JOB VACANCY: DEMAND PLANNER - FRESH PRODUCE (ONSITE)

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Demand Planner (Fresh
Produce) to join our team within the fresh produce sector. This role is responsible for
generating accurate demand forecasts, aligning supply with customer requirements,
and minimizing waste in a fast-paced, perishable goods environment. The ideal
candidate will combine strong analytical skills with an understanding of market trends,
seasonality, and customer behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain short-, medium-, and long-term demand forecasts across product categories.
Analyse historical sales data, promotional activity, and market trends to improve forecast accuracy.
Collaborate closely with Sales, Procurement, and Operations teams to align demand plans with supply capabilities.
Monitor daily demand fluctuations and adjust forecasts in response to changes in customer orders or external factors (e.g., weather, seasonality).
Support inventory management by balancing product availability with waste reduction targets.
Work with growers and suppliers to ensure supply plans reflect forecasted demand.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as forecast accuracy, service level, and waste.
Provide insights and reporting to support commercial decision-making.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within demand planning processes and systems.
Key Requirements
Proven experience in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain analysis, ideally within fresh produce or FMCG.
Strong analytical and numerical skills with proficiency in Excel and forecasting tools.
Understanding of perishability challenges, seasonality, and supply chain dynamics in fresh produce.
Ability to interpret data and translate it into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-moving environment.
Experience with ERP or planning systems is an advantage.
Desirable Skills
Knowledge of retail or wholesale fresh produce markets.
Experience working with promotions, pricing strategies, and customer demand
patterns.
Familiarity with supply chain planning software
Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or a related field.
