It is the intention of this privacy statement to explain to you the information practices of Meade Farm in relation to the information we collect about you.

Meade Farm are one of Ireland’s leading growers, packers and distributors of fresh produce to the retail and foodservice/catering sectors.  We provide the full range of fresh produce to retailers nationwide as we as a prepared food line to the foodservice, catering and retail market.

Disclosure of Information and Transfer of Data

 

Except as otherwise provided in this Privacy Policy, we reasonably attempt to ensure that we never intentionally disclose any of your Personal Information, to any third party without having received your permission, except as provided for herein or otherwise as permitted or required under law. In order to perform our contractual and other legal responsibilities or purposes, we may, from time to time, need to share your Personal Information with third parties which include Wix.com.

We may as well share your Personal Information with our subsidiaries or any third party service providers and individuals to facilitate our services or any portion thereof, such as marketing, data management or maintenance services. We may also share your information with analytics service providers for analytics services. Such analytics service providers set their own cookies or other identifiers on your computer, through which they can collect information about your usage of our Website. This helps us compile aggregated statistics about the effectiveness of our Website and Services.

The above mentioned third parties (Wix.com) may be located in countries other than your own, and we may send them information we receive. When such third party service providers process your Personal Information on our behalf, we will assure that they comply with obligations similar to those which are set forth in this Privacy Policy. Purpose for processing your data: 

  • The Contact Us section of our website allows you to send us a message, ask a question or sign up for our events.  It asks you for your name and email address.

  • This information (your name, email and message) is stored in our fully secure database for no longer than 15 days.

  • During that 15 day period, we will respond to your query

  • After we have responded this information is deleted from our database held by our webhost and it is deleted off our email system at Meade Farm.

  • If you have contacted us in relation to an event sign up, we will keep the information until such a time as the event is over and your information is no longer needed.

  • If you specifically ask that we retain your information for marketing purposes or in order to fulfill a request you might have, we will do so only until that request has been fulfilled, at which time the information will then be deleted from our email system.

 

Why are we processing your data? Our legal basis

In order for us to provide you with answers to your queries and messages via our website, Meade Farm need to collect personal data to respond to you.
Our reason (lawful reason) for processing your data under the GDPR is: 

  • Contractual -Meade Farm needs to process your data as this is necessary in relation to responding to your messages.

In any event, Meade Farm are committed to ensuring that the information we collect and use is appropriate for this purpose, and does not constitute an invasion of your privacy.

 

How will Meade Farm use the personal data it collects about me?

Meade Farm will process (collect, store and use) the information you provide in a manner compatible with the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We will endeavour to keep your information accurate and up to date, and not keep it for longer than is necessary.

 

Special categories of personal data

If we collect any special categories of personal data (e.g. health, religious beliefs, racial, ethnic origin – financial information is not classified as special categories of personal data) – we will ensure the below:

  • we will obtain your explicit consent

 

Who are sharing your data with?

We may pass your personal data on to third-party service providers contracted to Meade Farm in the course of dealing with you, such as our website service provider. Any third parties that we may share your data with are obliged to keep your details securely, and to use them only to fulfil the service they provide on your behalf. When they no longer need your data to fulfil this service, they will dispose of the details in line with Meade Farm Privacy Statement procedures.

 

If we wish to pass your sensitive personal data onto a third party we will only do so once we have obtained your explicit consent, unless we are legally required to do otherwise.

 

The third parties that we pass your personal data to are:

  • our website service provider hosts the database which channels your messages to our email system

 

We have issued all our third party processors with a Data Processor checklist asking them GDPR specific questions

If we transfer personal data to a third party or outside the EU we as the data controller will ensure the recipient (processor or another controller) has provided the appropriate safeguards and on condition that enforceable data subject rights and effective legal remedies for you the data subject are available.

Meade Farm facilitate you, our clients, rights in line with our data protection policy and the subject access request procedure. This is available on request.

 

Your rights as a data subject

At any point while we are in possession of or processing your personal data, you, the data subject, have the following rights:

  • Right of access: you have the right to request a copy of the information that we hold about you.

  • Right of rectification: you have a right to correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.

  • Right to be forgotten: in certain circumstances you can ask for the data we hold about you to be erased from our records.

  • Right to restriction of processing: where certain conditions apply to have a right to restrict the processing.

  • Right of portability: you have the right to have the data we hold about you transferred to another organisation.

  • Right to object: you have the right to object to certain types of processing such as direct marketing.

  • Right to object to automated processing, including profiling: you also have the right to be subject to the legal effects of automated processing or profiling.

  • Right to judicial review: in the event that Meade Farm refuses your request under rights of access, we will provide you with a reason as to why.

All of the above requests will be forwarded on should there be a third party involved as we have indicated in the processing of your personal data.

Retention of your personal data

Data will not be held for longer than is necessary for the purpose(s) for which they were obtained. Meade Farm will process personal data in accordance with our retention schedule. This retention schedule has been governed by our internal governance.

Complaints

In the event that you wish to make a complaint about how your personal data is being processed by Meade Farm or how your complaint has been handled, you have the right to lodge a complaint directly with the supervisory authority and Meade Farm data protection representatives Data Protection Officer / GDPR Owner

Failure to provide further information

If we are collecting your data for a contract (e.g. insurance policy) and you cannot provide this data the consequences of this could mean the contract cannot be completed or details are incorrect.

Additional Processing

If we intend to further process your personal data for a purpose other than for which the data was collected, we will provide this information prior to processing this data.

If we have received your personal data from another source we will endeavour to share with you:

  • one month of obtaining the personal data, in accordance with the specific circumstances of the processing;

  • at the first instance of communicating in circumstances where the personal data is used to communicate with the data subject;

  • when personal data is first disclosed in circumstances where the personal data is disclosed to another recipient.
