JOB VACANCY: HORTICULTURE APPRENTICESHIP (VEG PRODUCTION)

Due to continued expansion, Meade Farm Group are recruiting for an enthusiastic Horticulture Apprentice with a keen interest in vegetable production to join our farm team. Meade Farm Group are one of Ireland’s leading growers, packers, distributors and service providers to the retail sector.

The successful candidate will be joining a team with a wealth of experience in growing brassicas, tillage and root crops. The apprentice will learn all aspects of planting, irrigation, spraying and harvesting.

The apprenticeship is A 2-year programme resulting in a nationally recognised QQ1 Higher Certificate as a Horticulturist (NFQ Level 6). This is an exciting opportunity to enhance class-based learning with comprehensive on-the-job experience and on-site mentoring.

What's required

• Meet the apprenticeship qualification criteria.

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and learn new skills.

• Can-do attitude, be career focused with an interest in Horticulture.

• Be capable of working as part of a team in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, and on own initiative when required.

• Driving licence preferred.

• Must be fluent in English and able to liaise with colleagues.

• Must be flexible and willing to work in a range of areas due to field locations.
