JOB VACANCY: HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER

The Health & Safety (H&S) Manager is responsible for coordinating and implementing the sites Health & Safety Management System, ensuring legal compliance, reducing workplace risk and promoting a strong and positive health & safety culture within a fast-paced FMCG environment.


Key Responsibilities


Health & Safety:

  • Develop, implement and maintain the companies Health & Safety management system including health and safety policies, risk assessments and safe operating procedures.

  • Lead accident, incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective CAPA.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.

  • Oversee machinery safety e.g. guarding, safe operation & ensure SOPs are in place.

  • Implement and enforce appropriate PPE usage in all areas.

  • Manage emergency preparedness e.g. fire drills, chemical safety and first aid programmes.

  • Review and monitor training needs across the site.

  • Oversee, prepare and deliver training & inductions for new employees and contractors.

  • Cross-function collaboration with QA, Operations, Engineering to embed EHS into all areas.

  • Work closely with Technical, QA, Maintenance and Operations to support compliance with third party and customer standards.

  • Promote a proactive health and safety culture across all departments.

  • Monitor Health & Safety performance and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management.

  • Conduct routine internal health & safety audits and report findings and corrective actions to senior management.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Health and Safety or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience within manufacturing, preferably food production or FMCG.

  • Strong ability to influence and lead teams.

  • Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • High attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
