
The role of the Quality Supervisor is to work closely with the Quality Manager in maintaining Quality Control / HACCP procedures daily. The Role will involve supervising a team of quality technicians who are testing and examining all produce to ensure the highest standard of quality is achieved for all customers.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Supervising a team of quality assurance technicians.
Ensuring enough staff is rostered in to work at any given time in the quality department.
Carrying out quality inspections on produce at intake, repack and finished product stages.
Completion of daily record keeping e.g., intake and dispatch checks, scales checks, sending quality reports to suppliers, reviewing raw material quality on a continuous basis, and communicating any quality issues to production/ purchasing departments.
Ensuring HACCP principles are continuously met for product safety and process control.
Ensuring BRC requirements are maintained as set down in the relevant standard and ensuring traceability is maintained for all production lines.
Ensuring and cross-checking traceability is available and correct for each delivery and contact all suppliers to obtain traceability in advance.
Ensuring all suppliers are approved and an approved supplier list is maintained up to date.
Assist in carrying out internal audits on a routine basis/ ensuring that the factory is compliant with all health & safety/ quality regulations
Conduct GMP & Glass and Perspex audits monthly.
Perform internal audits as necessary.
Represent the Quality Dept. at tier meetings with production, maintenance, procurement.
Be with key point of contact for the Quality team. This will include liaising with various departments daily.
Qualifications / Experience
Degree in Food Science, Agricultural Science, or a related scientific discipline is desired but not essential.
Previous supervisory experience is essential.
2-3 years’ experience in Quality is desirable.
Candidate should be familiar with BRCGS, HACCP, Bord Bia, and have knowledge of Food Service and Retailer Codes of Practices in food manufacturing.
Internal Audit training is desirable.
Familiar with ERP stock management systems.
